"English for Universities": dissemination seminar 2

27.01.2016 the participants of the British Council project "English for Universities" held the second dissemination seminar. 

One more group of NMU lecturers took part in the series of trainings given by British experts in Kiev (12-17 January, 2016), among them Viktoriia Gubkina (senior teacher, Department of Foreign Languages), Olena Sdvizhkova, (professor, Head of theDepartment of Higher Mathematics), Dmytro Babets (Associate Professor,Department of Higher Mathematics), Iryna Klimkina (Associate Professor, Department of Ecology) and Olena Berezniak (Department of Mineral Dressing).

They presented the most important ideas obtained during the trainings. The listeners were given useful ideas on giving lectures in English, ways of communicating with audience and facilitating understanding.

  

Denys Zhadiaiev (Associate Professor of the Department of Philosophy and Pedagogics), who took part in Lviv training session, shared valuable information about sources of materials a lecturer can use for classes.

The talks given by the representatives of Foreign Languages Department were devoted to the issues of teaching English for Specific Purposes (ESP). 

Senior teacher V. Gubkina presented her understanding of designing course syllabus. 

Oksana Khazova engaged the audience in the question of teaching vocabulary.

 

Nataliia Nechai shared her experience of engaging students into the process of active learning and students' understanding of an effective lecture.
